Experience Architecture

We design the conditions in which transformation becomes possible.

We clarify the change an experience is meant to make more likely. We design the invitation around participation, and protect those conditions from the first conversation through year eight.

Our Approach

Most experiences stop at what people do and what happens. We design for what happens after what happens.

A bee gathers nectar, makes honey, and, incidentally, pollinates an entire ecosystem. Buckminster Fuller called this precession. The most significant outcomes of any action occur perpendicular to the intended direction.

Most experiences optimize for engagement and satisfaction. We design for pollination: room for people to leave with a sincere suspicion that the world is a little different than they thought.

The Gap

You can build something spectacular. Proving it mattered is harder.

Attendance and satisfaction matter. None of them answer: Did anything change? When the spectacle was the whole plan, intent fades after opening.

  • What visitors carry forward.
  • What they do differently once they leave.
  • What the institution can still defend at year eight.

We close that gap.

How we build

Three commitments across the arc.

Name the change
From the first conversation, before design commits, while intent is still movable.
Design the conditions
Space, systems, and staff protocols as one invite. Craft and rigor in the same room.
Protect intent
As decisions harden, through build, handover, and daily operation.

Earliest is best. Any gate works. How we think about timing

What We Do

Consulting, strategy, and creative leadership.

Strategy & Evaluation

Plan review, experience audit, feasibility, and vendor neutral technology specification. Assessment of what an experience is actually producing against what it intended.

Creative Leadership

Executive production and creative direction from concept through delivery. We speak both rooms: the imaginative ask and the systems that keep it alive. One point of leadership across creative, technical, and integration, accountable for the outcome.

Systems & Technical

AV, show control, and infrastructure systems design, plus owner's representation through commissioning. We design and oversee integration partners. We don't self perform integration.

The practice draws on the principal's twenty years across live event production, themed entertainment, and cultural venues — including leadership on a THEA Award–winning program and team work on a VES Award–winning special venue for Disney and ILM.

Ways in

Start with something sized to the decision.

Intent workshop
A focused session that clarifies the change an experience is meant to make more likely, before design commits. A structured first yes when the ambition is clear but the path is not yet.
Plan review
Review of a planned system or touring package against design intent, including whether that intent still holds on a later stop, built by different hands.
Workstream architecture
Experience architect on one live project, produced alongside your design and fabrication. Intent clarified. Plans reviewed against it. Systems and documentation that still hold after handover.

The Tertiary Method™

We design for the tertiary from the first conversation.

The Tertiary Method™ begins with what visitors carry forward, not only with what you build and what they do.
